Saint Honore French Majolica Covered Hen on Nest – SOLD


A rare form covered Hen on a Nest by Saint Honore Les Bains. Saint-Honoré-les-Bains is a commune in the Nièvre department in central France.

The lid shows a brown hen on a nest of green grass, warming two white eggs. The base is in the form of a woven basket in greens and yellow ocher, with side handles.

Measuring  8.50″ L x  5.50″W  x  6.50″H

Marked with the impressed “Depose,” the French term for registered, used c. 1900.
